Job description

Role Overview

We seek an AI Security Engineer to fortify our AI-driven platforms, including large language model applications, machine learning systems, and AI-powered automation tools. This position focuses on identifying, evaluating, and mitigating security vulnerabilities throughout the AI lifecycle, spanning from model creation and training to deployment and ongoing monitoring.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Architect and apply security controls for AI/ML systems during development, training phases, and live production environments.
  • Secure integration points such as LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and AI APIs.
  • Perform threat modeling exercises for AI systems and their data pipelines.
  • Define and establish secure-by-design standards for AI-enhanced functionalities.
  • Detect and suppress AI-specific risks including prompt injection, jailbreak attempts, model poisoning, data leakage, adversarial manipulations, insecure serialization, and permission overreach in AI agents.
  • Devise guardrails, implement content filters, and validate AI output to maintain security integrity.
  • Set up systems to monitor anomalous or suspicious AI behaviors.
  • Integrate AI security checks into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
  • Conduct security assessments of machine learning codebases and AI infrastructures.
  • Ensure protection of model registries and artifact storage locations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to enforce organization-wide security policies.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations such as GDPR and applicable financial industry standards; enforce controls on sensitive data used in training and inference.
  • Conduct AI-focused risk evaluations aligned with internal risk frameworks.
  • Help develop AI security standards, policies, risk classification schemes, and control frameworks within the company.
  • Participate in security review processes for new AI projects and tools.

Qualifications

  • Three to five plus years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or application security roles.
  • Practical expertise working with AI/ML solutions including large language models and natural language processing frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
  • Experience with Claude Code platform.
  • Strong background with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of API security, container technologies like Docker, and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of AI-specific threats and appropriate defensive techniques.
  • Capable of performing threat modeling and comprehensive risk assessments.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures, vector databases, and machine learning pipelines like MLflow, Kubeflow, and SageMaker.
  • Experience operating within fintech or regulated industry environments.
  • Acquaintance with AI governance frameworks including EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and ISO/IEC 42001 standards.
  • Background in AI red teaming and cybersecurity practices such as OWASP and secure software development lifecycle methodologies.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate technical AI security risks in business-relevant terms.
  • Capable of articulating AI security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effective collaboration across ML, data, and product teams.
  • Clear and precise documentation and communication abilities.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive compensation that values your expertise and contributions.
  • Supportive work-life balance considering your time inside and outside the workplace.
  • Generous vacation policy to recharge without concerns.
