Agent Systems Engineer

Role Overview

Join our team to develop foundational agent systems central to our product, which convert customer objectives into dependable, multi-step actions across diverse tools and services under real-world conditions.

Job Responsibilities

• Architect agent frameworks encompassing planning, reasoning, tool utilization, memory features, and integration with external data and systems.
• Enhance dependability in executing extended, multi-step operations, including mechanisms for failure handling and recovery.
• Implement feedback loops that enable agents to progressively improve their performance through actual usage.
• Design robust evaluation methodologies that accurately gauge agent effectiveness while resisting manipulation.
• Balance practical decisions involving output quality, response time, cost considerations, and system complexity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience delivering production-ready machine learning or backend systems, with hands-on expertise moving large language model or agent applications beyond prototypes into full deployment.
• Deep knowledge of agent system design covering planning, reasoning, tool orchestration, and memory management.
• Proven track record building precise evaluation frameworks, along with execution tracing and observability tailored for agents, emphasizing reproducibility of results.
• Familiarity with OpenAI Responses API, Message Chain Processing, and distinctions between server-side and client-side execution.
