About the internship
Overview
Join Planys Technologies Private Limited, an IIT Madras-incubated startup focused on advanced underwater robotic inspection and surveying. This internship offers hands-on experience with submersible remotely operated and autonomous underwater vehicles. Under the mentorship of IIT Madras alumni and faculty, interns will engage in designing and fabricating robotic platforms with integrated sensing and diagnostic capabilities focusing on marine robotics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop embedded software and work with PCB design tools.
- Perform circuit simulations, thermal and circuit design, and PCB development.
- Contribute to firmware programming for microcontrollers such as AVR and ARM families.
- Conduct product market analysis, prepare bills of materials, documentation, and manage inventory and vendor relations.
- Utilize prior practical experience in electrical and electronics fields.
- Work with electronic components, testing, and measurement devices.
- Handle soldering and testing of original equipment manufacturer hardware used in underwater vehicles.
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office suites, especially Excel and Word.
- Maintain 5S standards and safety protocols in the electrical engineering lab and assembly workshop.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Electronics Engineering students or have related academic backgrounds.
- Available for full-time onsite internship for six months, starting between August 21, 2026, and September 25, 2026.
- Possess relevant skills and genuine interest in embedded systems and electronics.
Compensation and Benefits
- Monthly stipend ranging from INR 12,000 to 15,000.
- Certificate of internship completion.

Additional Details
The internship will be conducted completely onsite at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Interns will be expected to adhere to safety and lab-maintenance practices while contributing to state-of-the-art marine robotics projects.
