Role Overview

We are seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join our civil project team based in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. This role offers the chance to work with a dynamic team on some of Ireland's largest construction and facilities management projects, with opportunities to enhance your skills to the highest industry standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on contractual issues at both general and project levels.
• Manage contractual claims and maintain all related documentation accurately.
• Identify ways to maximize revenue and reduce costs while investigating any losses.
• Support project cash flow management activities.
• Assist with and advise on project correspondence.
• Negotiate terms and prices with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure prompt closure of final accounts.
• Draft commercial and contractual correspondence in a timely manner.
• Prepare documentation for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Compile and review monthly cost reports for the project.
• Regularly update and monitor risk registers, variation trackers, and extension of time tracking sheets for inclusion in monthly reports.
• Negotiate final accounts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Measure and price project variations and negotiate them with clients, quantity surveyors, and subcontractors.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Demonstrated experience as a Quantity Surveyor on medium to large scale construction projects.
• Experience working on sizable construction sites with a high number of personnel and subcontractors.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Commercial and Contracts Managers, as well as client representatives, including participation in site meetings.
• Strong skills in managing time to meet demanding work objectives efficiently.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation abilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of the construction sector and on-site operations.
• Capable of maximizing productivity and efficiency during work hours.
