Job description

About Red Sea International Company

Red Sea International Company (RSI) is a Saudi Public Joint Stock Company operating through its subsidiaries: Red Sea Housing Services (RSHS) focusing on industrial housing, Red Sea Affordable Housing (RSAH) specializing in affordable housing, and Red Sea Building Materials (RSBM) managing building materials. Established over 40 years ago, RSI is recognized for innovative off-site modular construction techniques and maintains a presence in more than 65 countries worldwide.

Role Overview

The Electrical Engineer will manage, review, and coordinate electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage installations for modular building projects. The role involves ensuring electrical designs are precisely integrated during prefabrication in factories and correctly connected during onsite assembly of modular units.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret electrical project specifications, single-line diagrams for power and lighting, and relevant building codes to formulate timelines and project budgets.
  • Monitor and report progress of off-site electrical pre-wiring, panel assembly, and onsite module electrical hookups.
  • Ensure strict adherence to electrical contract requirements, technical submittals, load scheduling, and testing standards.
  • Develop innovative engineering solutions and ensure proper system integration within modular building frameworks.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommend digital modeling software tools to support projects.
  • Maintain accuracy in technical documentation including coding, editing, letters, variation claims, and engineering memos.
  • Organize and keep detailed electrical documentation, submittal logs, single-line diagrams, and as-built drawings.
  • Support training sessions for site and factory teams on specialized electrical design software.
  • Assist project management with material takeoff tasks, budgeting, and scheduling for electrical procurement.
  • Coordinate procurement of long-lead electrical components like transformers, switchgear, and distribution boards.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with site managers, factory teams, and electrical subcontractors to ensure project alignment.
  • Analyze technical drawings and BIM models to generate accurate material takeoffs and electrical cost estimates.
  • Ensure electrical installation activities are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget constraints.
  • Create and review electrical schematics, power distribution plans, and cable routing diagrams using 2D/3D CAD software.
  • Estimate material costs and timelines for factory cabling and on-site primary power connections.
  • Choose suitable installation methods for cabling, terminations, and grounding at various modular construction stages.
  • Validate subcontractor payment submissions and confirm vendor invoices with accounting departments.
  • Engage in technical coordination meetings with clients, main contractors, consultants, and power utilities.
  • Attend industry trade shows to stay current with modular prefabrication techniques and intelligent electrical solutions.
  • Maintain inventories of specialized electrical testing instruments and software tools.
  • Carry out other engineering and administrative duties as required.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Between 3 to 6 years of practical experience in electrical engineering, building services, or industrial assembly environments.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in modular buildings, off-site prefabrication, or pre-wired volumetric construction systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and BIM applications like Revit and AutoCAD, alongside electrical design and calculation software.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for technical documentation.
  • Strong expertise in electrical design, load calculations, and implementation techniques.
  • Clear understanding of health and safety practices relevant to electrical installations, high-voltage testing, and commissioning on site.
