Key Responsibilities
- Establish and manage tools and infrastructure essential for DevOps processes.
- Enhance efficiency and foster innovation within the DevOps team.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external parties to streamline operations.
- Track and evaluate customer experience metrics and key performance indicators.
- Develop automation strategies to improve software development and release workflows.
- Identify technical challenges and implement software updates and fixes.
- Collaborate closely with software developers to ensure adherence to established development practices and goals.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of various operating systems and their operational impacts.
- Assess existing technology frameworks within the company and suggest improvements and expansions.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a DevOps engineer emphasizing design and execution of strong DevOps toolchains and cloud automation approaches.
- Proven expertise in setting up and managing continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS Code Pipeline.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure with hands-on experience on services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, and IAM.
- Skilled in infrastructure-as-code frameworks like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible for automating cloud resource provisioning and management.
- Familiarity with GitLab, build systems like Bazel and Maven, AWS CodeCommit, Jenkins, JIRA, Selenium, SonarQube, Covertly, AWS CodeDeploy, Ansible, CloudFormation, and artifact repository tools.
- Experience using Docker to containerize applications—creating images, managing containers, and configuring networking and storage.
- Understanding of Kubernetes orchestration for deploying containerized applications, managing pods, scaling, load balancing, and resource allocation.
- Background in setting up and administering mirror repositories such as Nexus or Artifactory, along with VS Code extension development and distribution.
- Proficient scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for infrastructure automation and management; experience with serverless AWS Lambda utilities for workflow automation.
- Comprehensive understanding of DevOps best practices covering CI/CD, configuration management, and automated testing processes.
- Ability to implement and oversee monitoring, alerting, and logging setups in AWS environments using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Elasticsearch.
- Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and VPC security configurations.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities for diagnosing and resolving complex cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to work in cross-functional collaborative settings.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or higher and cloud certifications in AWS and Azure.
