Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Project Planner to join our client's team at their headquarters in Slane, County Meath, Ireland. This role supports major Data Centre projects throughout Europe, requiring the creation, management, and upkeep of detailed project schedules covering all phases from preconstruction through to project completion. The position demands advanced planning skills, strong communication capabilities, and the capacity to coordinate multidisciplinary teams efficiently in a dynamic, intense environment.

The client is a leading specialist electrical contractor headquartered in Ireland, offering medium and low voltage cable installations, termination services, busbar, and containment systems for diverse construction projects. Their portfolio includes mission critical projects serving sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, power generation, and critical infrastructure across Europe and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Create and sustain comprehensive project schedules, integrating detailed scope elements, key milestones, and resource planning.
- Track and compare project progress with baseline plans, proactively identifying risks and delays to implement solutions.
- Conduct regular site visits to obtain live updates and ensure precise planning coordination with site teams.
- Organize and lead planning meetings involving both internal personnel and external stakeholders to synchronize timelines with actual progress.
- Suggest improvements in task sequencing and resource allocation to enhance efficiency and timely milestone completion.
- Update project schedules in response to scope modifications and variations, coordinating closely with commercial and delivery departments.
- Prepare and distribute accurate progress reports to site leaders and senior management.
- Support the mitigation of risks by recognizing schedule impacts and facilitating corrective action plans.
- Assist in developing short-term lookahead plans to guide on-site activities effectively.
- Maintain planning documents, data, and records compliant with organizational and project standards.
Requirements
- Preferably hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory.
- At least 3 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale projects.
- Prior involvement with Data Centre projects is highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical ability to interpret intricate project information and communicate findings clearly.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Possession of EU citizenship or eligibility to travel freely across the European Union.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
