Team Overview
The Regulatory Effectiveness group is a newly formed division aimed at enhancing regulatory insight and improving risk understanding and interventions. Within this, the Product Design and Development team crafts and sustains products and content to enhance health and safety outcomes nationally, collaborating closely with policy and digital experts to deliver user-centered solutions.
Role Summary
The AI Enablement Lead plays a pivotal role in advancing how artificial intelligence is utilized within WorkSafe. This position provides operational guidance to hasten AI integration across product management, collaborating with product leads and specialists to embed AI technologies that turn innovation into tangible business improvements. The role also focuses on capability building, continuous enhancement, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Leads, policy, and digital teams to seamlessly introduce AI capabilities into product workflows.
- Design, implement, and refine AI agents, prompt libraries, and AI-powered tools integrated into product development processes.
- Spot opportunities to enhance research, drafting, testing, and upkeep within the product lifecycle through AI.
- Equip teams with coaching and guidance to foster sustainable AI adoption and capabilities.
- Guarantee all AI-derived results comply with governance, quality, and regulatory protocols.
Required Experience and Competencies
- Proven experience analyzing business processes and translating them into AI or automation strategies.
- Skill in creating scalable, AI-enabled workflows and prompt frameworks that enhance operational efficiency.
- In-depth knowledge of prompt engineering, contextual instructions, and human oversight to ensure reliable AI outputs.
- Experience mentoring and coaching teams to develop AI capability.
- Understanding of governance frameworks, information management, and risk control for compliant AI use.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills to promote innovative practices.
Additional Information
This role welcomes both professional and personal AI experience. Legal eligibility to live and work in New Zealand is mandatory. Preference will be given to employees affected by organizational restructuring within WorkSafe. Salary and Benefits
The salary band for this position ranges from $112,754 to $147,932 NZD annually, with the expected starting salary between $112,754 and $124,480. Employer contributions to KiwiSaver and SSRSS are additional, increasing to 3.5% from April 2026.
