Wall Attendant

Job Location

This position is based in Terrace, British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine incoming loads to identify and reject any prohibited, hazardous, or recyclable materials ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
• Guide customers and direct vehicular traffic safely and efficiently to appropriate dumping, recycling, or disposal zones.
• Enforce adherence to safety protocols onsite, including ensuring visitors wear appropriate personal protective equipment and stay within safe designated areas.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the site by removing debris and supporting routine upkeep activities.
• Control site access by managing gate operations and monitoring for unauthorized or illegal dumping incidents.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to all facility users.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Capability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
• A heightened focus on safety and meticulous attention to detail.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and undertake light to moderate physical tasks.
• Prior experience in waste management, traffic direction, or site operations is advantageous.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is considered an asset.
