Role Overview

The position involves learning safety protocols and effective methods for detecting underground utilities. You will collaborate with experienced locators, operate specialized equipment, and document your findings using digital mapping tools to contribute to safe and efficient construction work.

Key Responsibilities

• Master utility locating methods, safety standards, and equipment operation procedures
• Gain knowledge about local utility systems and regulatory requirements
• Work alongside seasoned Utility Locators to mark underground utilities accurately
• Operate utility locating devices and document findings digitally
• Perform duties in various weather conditions
• Drive company vehicles safely and responsibly, following all driving policies
• Participate fully in both classroom-based and field training programs and complete all required training
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality for shifts and training sessions
• Carry out occasional manhole entry using proper safety tools and equipment
• Adapt to flexible scheduling needs including overtime, travel, and on-call or after-hours work
• Respond promptly to emergency calls during assigned on-call rotations
• Carry and operate electronic locating equipment (3-5 lbs) for extended durations; handle lifting of up to 50 pounds or heavier with assistance
• Physically able to perform tasks requiring reaching, bending, standing, walking, and fine hand motions
• Follow all safety rules without exception at all times

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant experience
• Hold a valid non-provisional state driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record

Physical Demands

• Frequently work in remote areas independently with arms raised above shoulder level, operate vehicles, perform fine motor activities, bend, stoop, stand, walk, lift up to 55 pounds, and use keyboards and mouse devices
• Occasionally use portable ladders, enter confined spaces, and climb stairs

Compensation and Benefits

• Wage range: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour
