About The Role

Balfour Beatty is seeking a skilled Planner to join their team and contribute to complex, high-profile construction projects throughout the UK. The Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules that ensure smooth coordination across teams and timely project completions. This role supports enhancing planning methods, optimizing resource allocation, and driving project success.

Responsibilities

• Create and uphold project programmes in line with established planning standards and protocols
• Collaborate during tender phases to determine effective project sequencing and methodologies
• Generate planning documentation including schedules, reports, and accompanying materials
• Oversee and update the contract programme through all project stages
• Track the critical path, identify risks, and suggest mitigation measures
• Maintain baseline schedules and assist with managing changes during the project
• Support resource scheduling to optimize labor, material, and equipment use
• Coordinate with subcontractors and stakeholders for seamless communication
• Analyse project metrics and KPIs to monitor progress and guide decision-making

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective time management and organisational skills
• Competence in managing and interpreting project data
• Experience with planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta, MS Project, and Excel
• Knowledge of construction methodologies and project lifecycle processes
• Understanding of contracts, tendering, and planning best practices
• Background in construction or related industries with proven planning experience
• Experience collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to meet objectives
