Position Overview
At Aloft Hotels in Dubai, the Host/Hostess plays an essential role in greeting guests warmly and guiding them to appropriate seating arrangements. This position requires attentively managing dining areas to ensure guests receive a clean and comfortable experience, including setting tables with the right utensils and updated menus.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and ascertain the group size promptly.
- Direct guests to available, clean tables and assist throughout their dining experience.
- Arrange and rearrange tables, chairs, and cutlery, paying special attention to groups with specific needs.
- Ensure proper place settings, including the appropriate cutlery, clean napkins, and any standard dining elements.
- Verify menus for cleanliness, accuracy, and absence of wrinkles or damage.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas consistently throughout shifts.
- Monitor seating availability, service quality, and guest safety within dining areas.
- Adhere to company safety policies, promptly report any accidents or unsafe conditions to management, and participate in relevant safety training and certification.
- Display a neat and professional personal appearance aligned with uniform standards.
- Protect company confidential information and property.
- Communicate with guests and staff using clear, professional language and proper telephone protocols.
- Support colleagues by fostering positive workplace relationships and actively contributing to team objectives.
- Comply with hospitality quality and operational standards consistently.
- Be physically capable of standing, sitting, walking for extended periods and handling items weighing up to 10 pounds independently.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Completion of secondary school or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Experience: Prior work in food service settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Supervisory Experience: Not required.
- Licenses/Certifications: None required.
