Job description
Position Overview
The Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor ensures that guest rooms, public areas, pool, and other facilities meet the highest quality standards. This role involves inspecting cleaned rooms after housekeeping, preparing reports on room statuses, prioritizing cleaning tasks, and updating the status of departing guest rooms.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and verify the cleanliness of rooms, public spaces, and pool areas following housekeeping service to ensure compliance with quality benchmarks.
- Generate comprehensive reports on rented rooms and assess room conditions to identify those unsuitable for guests.
- Prioritize cleaning schedules and update the status of outgoing guest rooms.
- Support housekeeping management in overseeing daily operations and coordinate efforts with engineering, front desk, and laundry departments.
- Document and resolve issues related to rooms deemed unfit in cooperation with the reception desk.
- Prepare, distribute, and communicate updates on staff assignments and schedules; report unresolved issues to the succeeding team.
- Manage necessary administrative tasks related to housekeeping operations.
- Assist management in recruitment, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, enforcing disciplinary rules, motivating, and guiding employees.
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce all chain-wide safety policies and procedures, report any maintenance issues, accident risks, accidents, or injuries.
- Complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain professional and clean personal appearance.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive company information and safeguard company property.
- Demonstrate respect and dignity towards colleagues and foster a supportive team environment.
- Meet or exceed quality assurance standards and expectations.
Physical and Operational Duties
- Respond quickly and efficiently to work situations, including movements such as running, walking, and jogging.
- Visually read and verify information presented in various formats, including fine print.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery to detect defects.
- Utilize computers and point-of-sale systems to enter and retrieve job-related information.
- Handle objects of varying sizes and weights with excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Perform physical movements such as reaching above head, bending, twisting body, pulling, and crouching, and maneuver in confined or elevated spaces.
- Navigate slopes, uneven surfaces, slippery steps, stairs, and service ramps.
- Regularly use fine manual dexterity, including frequent bimanual tasks requiring coordinated motor skills.
- Lift and move items weighing up to 25 kg (55 lbs) independently, and heavier items with assistance.
- Push and pull loaded housekeeping carts and other equipment on uneven or inclined surfaces.
- Stand, kneel, sit, or walk for extended periods frequently throughout a full shift.
- Listen and respond appropriately to guest and team member concerns using clear and courteous language.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management consistent with the role.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- At least one year of relevant work experience in a related field.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
- No mandatory certifications or licenses required.
