Role Overview
The Wellness Coordinator is a crucial leadership role within the Site Health team, tasked with spearheading wellness initiatives across the Kansanshi and Kalumbila mine sites. This position requires collaboration with Fitness, Occupational Health, and Health Promotion teams to implement a comprehensive wellness program benefiting over 10,000 employees.
The Coordinator leads wellness officers and specialist consultants, drives impactful wellness campaigns, and ensures the effective delivery of sensitization programs and engagement efforts that promote physical and mental health.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage Wellness team members and specialist consultants across multiple mining locations.
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly wellness plans in partnership with HR, health services, and wellness experts.
- Develop and launch innovative wellness initiatives such as interdepartmental challenges, World Health Day events, and multi-site campaigns.
- Enhance methods of disseminating wellness information to maximize employee engagement.
- Organize sensitization sessions focused on mental health, stress management, nutrition, non-communicable diseases, and other wellness topics.
- Conduct presentations, webinars, and interactive workshops for workforce wellbeing.
- Design and produce engaging IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials including posters, infographics, videos, and pamphlets.
- Collaborate with specialists to convert professional wellness knowledge into accessible content.
- Generate accurate reports and dashboards tracking wellness program participation, impact, and value delivered.
- Establish effective reporting systems and monitoring tools throughout the Wellness Centre.
- Facilitate coordination of specialist services such as psychological counseling, nutrition, and psychiatry as needed.
Qualifications
- A degree in Social Sciences, Health or Allied Health Sciences, Organisational Psychology, or related fields, complemented by a wellness or life coaching certification.
- Additional credentials such as project or operations management, coaching or leadership development certificates, and training in social media or digital campaign management are advantageous.
- Further knowledge in organizational psychology, wellness program development, marketing, or public health is beneficial.
- Possession of ZAQA validated qualifications is mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in wellness coordination, corporate health, workplace wellbeing, or similar areas.
- Familiarity with Canva or qualifications in Communications, Marketing, or Digital Media are desirable.
