Job description
About the Position
We are recruiting a Warehouse Supervisor to join a leading distribution team in a newly established, cutting-edge facility associated with a prominent New Zealand building products brand. This position is located in Tauriko and operates on an afternoon shift from Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of approximately 11 members, including a second-in-command and warehouse operators, to meet operational and customer service targets.
- Uphold and foster a safety-first culture in full adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee inventory accuracy, coordinating and supporting routine stocktaking procedures.
- Ensure the precise and quality-compliant dispatch of products.
- Engage actively on the warehouse floor through job planning, training, and coaching initiatives.
- Implement continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Performance Indicators
- Maintaining excellent safety records via vigilant hazard identification and management.
- Achieving high accuracy in inventory control.
- Meeting IFOTIS (In Full, On Time, In Spec) delivery objectives consistently.
- Enhancing truck turnaround times and dispatch efficiency.
- Promoting strong employee engagement and effective team dynamics.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated leadership within warehouse, distribution, or logistics settings.
- A minimum of five years in large-scale distribution or logistics environments.
- Possession of a current forklift license ideally covering counterbalance and reach trucks.
- Deep knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Strong skills in communication, planning, and problem solving.
- A proactive and resilient leadership approach with a focus on staff development.
- Experience in handling mechanical equipment and familiarity with dangerous goods regulations would be advantageous.
