About the Role
Our client, a prominent packaging solutions company based in Limerick, is actively searching for a Warehouse Supervisor to enhance their team. The appointed individual will be responsible for managing daily warehouse activities, maintaining top safety standards, ensuring precise inventory control, coordinating materials planning, overseeing distribution processes, and driving team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold a safe workplace by adhering to company safety policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Guarantee the correct and safe operation of warehouse machinery and foster safe work habits across all staff.
- Assist with scheduling materials including planning, procurement, and delivery management.
- Supervise handling, storage, and accurate documentation of products in the warehouse.
- Monitor stock control and ensure inventory accuracy through ongoing reconciliation with the inventory management system.
- Manage the coordination of incoming and outgoing shipments efficiently and timely.
- Support other business operations such as production when required.
- Develop and implement warehouse strategies to enhance operational efficiency, optimize storage, control inventory, minimize waste, and reduce slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Lead daily warehouse activities by clearly conveying priorities, goals, and operational expectations to the team.
- Motivate and manage warehouse staff to meet established performance goals.
- Identify employee training requirements and assist in the professional development of the warehouse team.
- Promote best practice standards within warehouse operations aligned with company objectives.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager with key projects, procedures, and daily tasks.
- Participate actively in site Operational Excellence initiatives such as 6S methodologies, risk assessments, audits, and inspections.
- Coordinate with suppliers, transport providers, and internal departments to guarantee smooth warehouse operations.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in warehouse work environments is essential.
- Previous supervisory or team lead roles will be highly advantageous.
- Competence with computer systems; experience using SAP is beneficial.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Capacity to analyze data and solve problems effectively with a numerical mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with various stakeholders.
- Able to communicate insights and provide actionable recommendations to broader teams and management.
- Possession of a clean driving license.
- Holding a valid mechanical lifting equipment certification is desirable.
