About the Role
The Warehouse Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of inventory movement between the warehouse and production areas at Celestica in Galway, Ireland. This role demands adherence to company standards and quality systems to maintain accuracy and operational flow.
Working Hours
The initial contract period involves working Monday through Friday for 39 hours per week as the Galway production line develops. Upon commencement of serial production, the schedule will shift to an average of 42 hours per week, distributed over a two-week rotating shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport freight and stock manually or using equipment such as manual pallet trucks, motorized pallet trucks, motorized mover trucks, or forklifts between loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage, and production areas.
- Document receipts, shipments, and invoices accurately.
- Maintain precise transaction records within the Warehouse Operating System.
- Identify and retrieve materials and supplies based on production orders.
- Prepare finished goods for shipment by pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing products.
- Communicate critical warehouse information effectively across shifts, including pass down meeting details.
- Conduct cycle counts and ensure relevant documentation completion.
- Maintain full data integrity and accuracy at all times.
- Inspect material-handling equipment before and after use for safe operation.
- Uphold workplace organization and cleanliness standards.
- Participate in physical inventory counts and maintain stock accuracy.
- Report any discrepancies or issues promptly to supervisors or line managers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Understanding of warehouse and manufacturing procedures and documentation preferred.
- Strong ability to keep detailed, organized, and accurate records.
- Effective communication skills with internal customers, including verbal and written proficiency.
- Basic awareness of manufacturing systems and principles.
- Ability to work independently with high motivation and minimal supervision.
- Previous forklift training and a current valid license are a plus.
- Relevant experience in warehouse operations is essential, and experience in production environments is advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and SAP systems.
- Familiarity with FIFO (First In, First Out) warehouse management principles is beneficial.
- Knowledge and compliance with Quality and ISO audit standards.
