About the Role

We are hiring a Warehouse Operative to join a manufacturing company in Portsmouth specializing in the design and production of electrical and electronic components. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to ensuring customer orders are accurately picked, packed, and processed while supporting smooth daily warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use the Warehouse Management System to accurately pick customer orders.
  • Pack goods according to customer specifications and packing guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory management through stock checks and continual inventory activities.
  • Safely and correctly put away stock as required.
  • Work towards meeting departmental goals and performance targets.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality control, and housekeeping within the warehouse.
  • Support team members with additional warehouse tasks when needed.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of warehouse processes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or comparable environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Good organizational abilities and capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with computer use; experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems is preferable.
  • Capable of performing well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possession of a Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence is beneficial.
  • Physically fit to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse throughout the shift.

Additional Information & Terms

  • This role requires passing a DBS check, employment and reference verification, including checking employment gaps exceeding 28 days.
  • Training and testing for work within a secure aviation area will be required.
  • Working hours are 39 per week at the Portsmouth location.
  • The role demands physical activity such as standing and walking during the working day.

  • Annual salary of £27,555.
