Overview

We are looking to appoint a Warehouse Automation Manager to direct the automation systems team focusing on optimizing performance, reliability, and ongoing enhancement of automated warehouse functions. This role offers an opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technologies including SAP EWM, WMS, robotics, AGV and AMR systems, and sophisticated control frameworks while spearheading projects that boost efficiency and innovation within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Warehouse Automation Systems team, ensuring safe and dependable support for logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure maximum uptime through prompt troubleshooting, issue resolution, and identification of root causes.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle and enhance the performance of automation systems such as WMS, SAP EWM, robotics, AGVs, AMRs, SCADA platforms, databases, and servers.
  • Drive automation projects from initial concept and design through to implementation, commissioning, and final transfer to operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including production, logistics, IT, and engineering to guarantee systems meet operational requirements.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and technology partners to deliver compliant and effective solutions.
  • Promote continuous improvement by utilizing performance indicators to increase throughput, accuracy, and equipment availability.

Candidate Requirements

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar technical field is essential.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automation, warehouse systems, or process control, preferably within manufacturing or logistics.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing automation or technical operations teams.
  • Comprehensive expertise in warehouse automation technologies including WMS, SAP EWM, robotics, AGVs/AMRs, middleware, SCADA, industrial networks, and virtualized systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Proven background in managing automation projects from gathering requirements to commissioning and handover.
  • Ability to clearly convey complex technical information to varied audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making capabilities, adaptable and resilient in dynamic environments.

  • Knowledge or familiarity with change management, continuous improvement processes, good manufacturing practices (GMP), ISO 14001, lean manufacturing, Microsoft Office, production management, production processes, quality control (QC), Six Sigma, standard operating procedures (SOP), and the waterfall project management model is expected.
