Position Overview

As a Visual Merchandiser at Target in Vestal, NY, you play a vital role in enhancing the shopping experience by creating compelling and brand-aligned visual displays. This position involves applying advanced merchandising techniques including mannequin styling, fixture blocking, and in-store marketing to stimulate sales and captivate guests.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay for this role ranges from $23.00 to $39.10, with the starting range being $23.00 to $25.00 based on various factors such as labor market conditions, education, experience, and certifications. Daily Responsibilities

• Organize daily and weekly visual merchandising schedules aligned with sales targets and promotional events.
• Conduct weekly assessments of visual displays and collaborate with store leaders to enhance visual execution and guest experience.
• Ensure adherence to Target’s visual standards and in-store marketing strategies across the store.
• Set overhead lighting to emphasize key product presentations.
• Troubleshoot merchandising challenges and adjust displays to maintain an inviting environment.
• Use regular team interactions to educate on visual standards, signage strategies, and creating sales-supportive displays.
• Maintain orderly backroom areas and keep signage tools and fixtures current.
• Facilitate onboarding and ongoing training to elevate team merchandising capabilities.
• Promote inclusivity, ethical behavior, and safety compliance within the store environment.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with guests and assisting with their needs.
• Perform other duties as business needs arise.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of visual merchandising experience.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Business insight into profitability and margin concepts along with creative flair.
• Strong awareness of current trends reflective of Target’s brand.
• Ability to lead, influence, and train store teams on merchandising processes.
• Proficiency with communication devices and point-of-sale technology.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing priorities effectively.
• Welcoming demeanor with effective communication skills.
• Capability to remain composed and focused in a busy retail environment while multitasking.

Physical and Other Requirements

• Access all store areas to assist guests and team members as needed.
• Operate equipment such as Work Assist Vehicles and pallet jacks.
• Understand and follow instructions, reporting, and information processing.
• Operate cash registers when required.
• Climb ladders and handle merchandise lifting up to 44 pounds periodically.
• Commit to a flexible schedule with reliable attendance; hours may vary and do not guarantee a full 40-hour workweek.
• Remain physically active and mobile throughout shifts.
