City Greens is an innovative AgriTech startup focused on automation and AI-powered solutions within Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA). We collaborate with modern farms and institutions to enhance productivity, efficiency, and sustainability through advanced technology.

We are hiring a Visiting Agronomist to serve as the technical lead on client farms across India. This position involves being on City Greens’ payroll but stationed at client sites, managing daily crop performance with support from our senior agronomy team.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage daily crop health and agronomy activities at the assigned client farm.
• Conduct thorough crop health evaluations, diagnose issues, and develop intervention plans.
• Follow and implement crop plans and agronomic protocols set by senior agronomy staff, escalating technical matters as needed.
• Train and enhance the skills of client farm teams regarding best practices in CEA crop management.
• Provide feedback from field experiences to improve internal agronomy procedures and technologies.
• Use farm management software, analyze IoT and sensor data, and track yield and input metrics.

Candidate Requirements

• At least one year of practical experience in agronomy.
• Experience or knowledge of controlled environment agriculture methods such as polyhouse/greenhouse, hydroponics, or aeroponics and high-value horticulture.
• Strong diagnostic skills to identify and solve crop health, nutrition, and environmental challenges in controlled environments.
• Comfortable handling data from farm management platforms and IoT devices.
• Willingness to relocate and work at client sites across India for extensive periods (6–12 months or longer) is mandatory.
• Available to attend an initial 4 to 8 week training program in Ahmedabad to learn City Greens' systems and protocols.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary is experience-based, starting at ₹30,000–₹35,000 per month for candidates with 1+ years of experience, scaling up to ₹60,000+ for over 5 years.

Additional Information

Important: Taking the pre-screening assessment is mandatory for consideration. This role is not suitable for candidates seeking fully remote or work-from-home positions. Deputation across various client sites nationwide is a non-negotiable condition.
