Position Overview
This opportunity is offered on behalf of a partner company seeking a Video Editor based in New Zealand. The role involves converting raw video footage into refined, captivating visual content that supports marketing efforts and client assignments across diverse digital platforms such as YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit raw footage into polished videos suitable for marketing campaigns and social media engagement.
- Create compelling visual stories by carefully controlling pace, sequencing, transitions, and other storytelling elements.
- Integrate motion graphics, animations, text overlays, sound effects, and various visual enhancements to enrich the final videos.
- Work closely with marketing and project teams to interpret creative briefs, understand target audiences, and ensure brand consistency.
- Customize video formats to meet the specifications of multiple digital channels.
- Maintain high standards in quality, adhering to brand guidelines and project expectations.
- Handle several editing projects at once while respecting deadlines and ensuring consistent output quality.
- Organize project files, footage, and assets effectively for seamless collaboration and reuse.
- Incorporate feedback and revisions while preserving creative coherence.
- Stay up to date with latest trends, tools, and technologies in video editing to continually enhance output.
- Provide support for other creative and video-related tasks as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated experience as a professional Video Editor with a strong portfolio showcasing editing craftsmanship and storytelling skill.
- Proficient with top-tier video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or similar applications.
- Deep knowledge of visual storytelling techniques including composition, pacing, transitions, and audience engagement strategies.
- Understanding of video formats, specifications, and best practices for various social media and online platforms is essential.
- Experience with motion graphics and animation is preferred.
- Basic skills in audio editing, sound design, and color grading are advantageous.
- Background in client-facing roles, agency, marketing, or project-based environments is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, professional work.
- Creative problem solver capable of translating ideas and briefs into effective visual material.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects independently under deadlines.
