Overview
Wood is seeking a skilled Vendor Coordinator to join their Engineering team within the Oil, Gas & New Energies division based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Initially, the role will be office-based and will transition to an onshore project site in Abu Dhabi.
Role Summary
The EPCM Vendor Coordinator will oversee and manage vendor-related activities at the project site. This includes ensuring the timely delivery, installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and final close-out of equipment and materials provided by vendors. The coordinator acts as the primary liaison connecting EPCM teams, contractors, vendors, and clients to guarantee compliance with project requirements including quality, safety, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all vendor activities on-site including delivery, installation, supervision, testing, commissioning, and handover processes
- Serve as the main contact point among vendors, construction teams, engineering, QA/QC, procurement, and clients
- Review vendor schedules to ensure consistency with overall project timelines
- Oversee vendor mobilization, including workforce, tools, and equipment readiness
- Enforce adherence to project health, safety, environment (HSE) policies, site regulations, and permit-to-work procedures
- Coordinate inspections and testing alongside QA/QC and client officials
- Monitor vendor progress, identifying risks or delays, and suggest mitigation measures
- Facilitate technical problem-solving discussions between vendors and engineering teams
- Validate completion of punch list items and support mechanical completion and commissioning efforts
- Generate periodic reports on vendor coordination status
- Participate in construction, commissioning, and progress meetings
- Ensure timely submission of all vendor documentation including method statements, inspection and test reports, commissioning documents, and as-built records
- Support contract administration by verifying vendor attendance, work deliverables, and variation requests
- Coordinate warranty support and comprehensive vendor close-out procedures
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil Engineering, or related fields
- At least 10 years’ experience in EPC/EPCM projects, preferably within oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, power generation, or infrastructure sectors
- Proven experience managing multiple equipment vendors during construction and commissioning phases
- Well-versed in procurement, construction, and commissioning workflows
