Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Utility Locator to join our team. The role involves accurately detecting and charting subsurface utilities to uphold safety and project precision. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and effective communication with clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field utility location tasks, including collecting, recording, and managing underground utility data as per client requirements.
  • Utilize industry-leading tools such as Ground Penetrating Radar, SONDE, and wands for detection and verification of subsurface utilities.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with other locators and surveyors within Veris.
  • Occasionally undertake short-term regional and interstate assignments as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Hold qualifications in utility mapping, surveying, or possess equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate mastery of subsurface utility detection techniques and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standard AS 5488-2022 regarding Subsurface Utility Information classification.
  • Experience leading field teams and interpreting diverse utility asset plans and diagrams.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Possess strategic and innovative thinking to enhance service delivery.
  • Understand operational efficiency as central to business success.
