Utility Locator

Job Overview

This position is primarily targeted toward individuals affiliated with the military community, including Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. The role is on-site in Hinesville, GA with a focus on underground utility locating. No prior experience with locating is required as thorough training is provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities such as telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems accurately, safely, and efficiently.
• Conduct thorough surveys of designated areas to mark locations of underground utilities, complete all required documentation, and photograph each locate site.
• Operate independently in the field, utilizing company-provided vehicles and advanced ticket and claims management technology to ensure precise marking and communication.
• Meet turnaround times, often within 48 hours, requiring availability on holidays, some weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts including nights as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions; previous outdoor work experience is beneficial.
• Proficient with modern technology and willing to use company devices.
• Flexible to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts based on business requirements.
• Pass a drug screening due to the safety-sensitive nature of the job.
• Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Physically capable of working in confined spaces and performing tasks that involve walking, bending, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Color vision sufficient to distinguish wiring and utility markings.
• Ability to read, interpret locate tickets, maps, and prints effectively.
• Strong communication skills to interact clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
