Job description
Position Overview
Kinaxia Logistics Limited is seeking a meticulous Transport Planner to join its team in Colchester. The primary responsibility is to strategize and implement collection and delivery timetables using the most cost-effective approaches, aligning with company goals, customer service expectations, and legal regulations.
Working Hours & Benefits
- Schedule: Monday to Saturday, with work on one Saturday per month
- Daily hours: 09:30 to 18:30
- Total hours per week: 45
- Annual salary: 35,000

Role Responsibilities
- Maximise the use of all IT tools, including TMS and customer portals, to plan fleet and workforce deployment efficiently.
- Ensure optimal utilisation of vehicles by accurately coordinating drivers, vehicles, trailers, deliveries, and return trips.
- Collaborate closely with the workshop to guarantee vehicle and trailer availability, integrate service schedules into planning, and promptly advise operations of any availability risks.
- Share transport plans with the team to enhance operational efficiency and sustain excellent customer service.
- Manage workforce levels, including agency staff, to meet and exceed daily plans and client needs.
- Maintain clear communication with customers to grasp and resource their schedules, manage handovers to relevant parties during operational delays, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Oversee planning and control of deliveries for upcoming days while providing pricing, quotations, and booking processes that satisfy customer expectations.
- Engage in team activities, including cross-training to ensure coverage during absences.
- Identify, communicate, and implement continuous improvements to enhance business operations.
- Adhere to high standards of housekeeping and safety, complying with health and safety policies to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Familiarity with Highway Code, EU tachograph rules, Working Time, and Road Transport Regulations.
- Experience with transport operational systems and logistics problem analysis.
- Strong geographical knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Relevant background in transport planning and operations.
