Role Overview

This position aims to equip employees in manufacturing operations with the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to perform safely and efficiently. It involves overseeing training and competency frameworks, managing learning systems, and developing workforce capability programs to foster a culture of continuous learning within daily operations. Collaboration with operational leaders, HR, and other stakeholders is key to identifying skill gaps, coordinating training actions, and tracking workforce competencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain training and competency frameworks aligned with business needs and operational capability.
  • Manage and enhance the employee training management system (ETMS), promoting its adoption and effectiveness.
  • Identify training requirements through skills gap analysis, competency evaluations, and stakeholder consultation.
  • Create and update learning materials, work instructions, SOPs, and training guides.
  • Coordinate training associated with new equipment, processes, and operational modifications.
  • Lead competency assessment initiatives and maintain skills matrices for operational teams.
  • Support and coach leaders to deliver effective team training through a train-the-trainer methodology.
  • Monitor, track, and report on training completions, compliance, and workforce capability metrics.

The ideal candidate enjoys facilitating learning and development, balancing strategic insight with practical execution to build impactful training programs. They can work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders from frontline supervisors to senior leaders, fostering collaboration and positive outcomes. The candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable analyzing data, improving systems, and delivering hands-on training in an operational setting.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in coordinating training, learning and development, competency management, or workforce capability initiatives.
  • Experience implementing or overseeing learning management or training management systems.
  • Background in manufacturing, production, industrial, or operational environments.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining skills matrices and competency frameworks.
  • Competent in designing training materials, procedures, and learning resources.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management platforms.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
