Job description
Role Overview
You will be responsible for keeping trains clean and hygienic, ensuring a safe and comfortable space for both passengers and staff. Maintaining the trains’ condition and appearance is key to delivering a positive travel experience.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9pm to 5am.
Key Duties
- Conduct routine cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming within the train compartments.
- Identify and report any damage, graffiti, or vandalism to the relevant departments for swift action.
- Manage and restock cleaning supplies to ensure availability for daily operations.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Handle and dispose of cleaning chemicals according to prescribed safety and environmental protocols.
Candidate Requirements
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom is mandatory.
- Previous experience in cleaning roles is preferred but not essential.
- Possess effective communication skills.
- Availability to work night shifts and weekend hours.
Additional Information
- Successful candidates must pass a medical examination and drug and alcohol screening before employment.
- Completion of Depot Track Safety (DTS) training will be required.
- Free commuting on South Western Railway (SWR) trains to and from work is provided.
