Role Overview
The Trader role invites candidates to join a proactive team focused on researching, interpreting, and capitalizing on global trading markets. Candidates should be eager to apply their abilities within a quantitative trading environment, demonstrating a positive, can-do approach to support the team across various responsibilities. This position offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with experienced traders and technologists within a 24/7 trading asset class. Traders work four days a week, with shifts either from Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with all facets of the business beyond trading, showing willingness to comprehend business priorities and adapt accordingly.
- Execute trading strategies effectively.
- Supervise trading positions and collaborate with clearing and operations teams to ensure trade and position reconciliations throughout each shift.
- Develop and sustain DevOps tools to support the trading system, including configuration and process management, deployment, ongoing monitoring, data gathering, and analysis.
- Diagnose and resolve issues impacting production trading, enhancing the efficiency of trading desk workflows.
- Gain proficiency or build expertise in quantitative trading initiatives, exchange infrastructure, and related trading areas.
- Take ownership of team-wide projects beyond regular trading duties.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong interest in cryptocurrencies with knowledge of various coins and trading platforms preferred.
- Proficient in Python scripting; able to create and comprehend simple to intermediate scripts.
- Comfortable working within Linux operating environments.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities in a high-tempo setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English.
- Proven discretion and sound judgment in decision-making.
- Preference for collaborative teamwork settings.
- A minimum of three years of prior trading experience.
- Dependable with consistent availability.
