About the Role
Mitre 10 Waihi is a family-run local business committed to providing quality products, excellent value, and expert advice to support DIY enthusiasts. We are seeking a Trade Supervisor to lead our trade team, overseeing daily operations and ensuring outstanding service for trade customers. This role demands hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, deep product knowledge, and team management capabilities.
Working Hours
This is a full-time position requiring 39.5 hours weekly from Sunday to Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspire and manage the trade team to meet sales goals and departmental targets.
- Organize and coordinate team schedules to guarantee smooth daily functioning and adequate coverage.
- Provide expert guidance and assistance to trade customers to ensure a superior in-store experience.
- Maintain high standards in product presentation, stock levels, and merchandising.
- Assist with inventory management and support operational needs.
- Enforce compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Serve as an essential communication bridge between trade staff and store management.
Essential Core Competencies
- Customer-Focused Leadership: Demonstrate a strong dedication to excellent customer service while aligning with business objectives.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven experience in team leadership, performance management, and fostering engagement.
- Trade Industry Knowledge: Preferably experienced in hardware, building supplies, timber, tools, or a related sector; however, leadership skills take precedence.
- Commercial Awareness: Comfortable assisting in sales, stock control, and inventory oversight.
- Health & Safety Commitment: Proactive attitude toward maintaining a safe workplace environment.
- Licensing Requirements: Must have a valid New Zealand Full Class 1 driver's license; forklift license is advantageous.
