Role Overview

This full-time, on-site position based in Wirral involves preparing surfaces, accurately measuring and cutting tiles, and fitting various tile types in bathrooms and related spaces. Daily responsibilities include mixing and applying adhesives and grout, ensuring tiles are level and well-aligned, and repairing or replacing any damaged tiles as needed. The role requires interpreting plans, collaborating with other tradespeople, maintaining cleanliness and safety on site, and maintaining clear communication with supervisors and clients regarding progress and any concerns.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces and accurately measure and cut tiles for installation.
• Install various tile types including wall and floor tiles with a high standard of precision.
• Mix and apply adhesives and grout to ensure strong, neat finishes.
• Repair or replace damaged tiles when necessary.
• Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Collaborate effectively with other trades on site.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Communicate progress and any issues clearly with supervisors and clients.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols and complete tasks within set timelines.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven skills in tiling, including wall and floor installations.
• Experience working with ceramic tiles and other common bathroom tiling materials.
• Ability to install detailed mosaics with precise alignment.
• Experience with marble and other high-end or natural stone finishes.
• Proficient in measuring, cutting, and shaping tiles using industry tools.
• Knowledge of surface prep, adhesives, grout application, and sealing.
• Ability to read and follow detailed project plans accurately.
• Focus on safety and upkeep of a tidy work environment.
• Previous experience in construction or bathroom fitting roles is essential.
• Possession of a full UK driving license and capacity to travel within the Wirral area is beneficial.
