Termite Technician

Role Overview

As a Termite Technician, you are instrumental in safeguarding clients' properties by detecting and treating infestations caused by wood-destroying organisms. Your efforts will help ensure customer comfort and peace of mind through thorough inspections, treatments, and preventive measures.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose termite issues by understanding termite behaviors and determine appropriate remedial actions.
• Safely carry out termite treatments following company standards and safety protocols.
• Apply anti-termite products according to schedules, safety guidelines, and manufacturer instructions.
• Convey to customers any critical conditions fostering termite activity and discuss possible procedural or structural adjustments augmenting treatment efforts.
• Confirm that the specifications of each job align with the given work order.
• Operate and maintain service vehicles and necessary equipment efficiently.
• Complete required documentation accurately to log services performed.
• Engage with customers to explain the nature and details of services rendered.

Essential Job Functions and Working Conditions

• Adapt to a variety of environments, including diverse seasonal weather and dusty or damp settings.
• Prepare treatment sites appropriately.
• Enter confined spaces, crawl spaces, climb ladders and stairs, and navigate rooftops safely.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including climbing, balancing, kneeling, stooping, crawling, and working at heights up to 20 feet.
• Wear personal protective equipment such as OSHA-compliant respirators and work in narrow or confined areas where pests reside.
• Experience or familiarity with general labor, carpentry, cement work, roofing, gutters, and attics is advantageous.

Candidate Requirements

• Clean-shaven face to ensure a proper seal for safety respirators.
• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Possession of a valid driver's license from the state of residence; company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
• Minimum one year of customer service experience; prior termite control experience is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn new skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays.
• Hold licenses or certifications required by federal, state, or local regulations (these will be provided by the company).
• Basic mathematical ability to perform operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals essential for mixing product treatments per instructions.
