Role Overview
The Tendering Executive will be responsible for actively monitoring government tender portals such as the GEM platform and similar relevant sources to identify tender opportunities aligned with the company's products and capabilities. This role involves thorough analysis of tenders to select opportunities likely to yield high success and revenue.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Consistently track and analyze tenders on the GEM portal and other channels to identify suitable bids.
- Lead the preparation, review, and on-time submission of bid proposals ensuring they comply with both technical and financial criteria set forth by government guidelines.
- Guarantee full conformity with GEM portal regulations, government policies, and internal company standards to limit risks related to disqualification.
- Maintain comprehensive and well-organized documentation of tender applications, submissions, and correspondences with government entities.
- Collaborate with finance and legal departments to collect essential data and obtain necessary approvals for accurate bid formulation.
- Follow up on submitted tenders, engage with government officials to monitor progress, and negotiate terms when appropriate to enhance chances of winning contracts.
- Analyze outcomes of past submissions to extract lessons and strategies for improving future tender quality and success rates.
- Optimize cost allocation in bid preparation by effectively managing expenses related to tender fees and documentation while ensuring budget adherence.
- Strategically set and meet revenue targets from successful bids, focusing on maximizing profit margins without compromising competitiveness.
Experience and Educational Background
- Applicants should have between 3 to 5 years of experience in tender bidding or relevant business development roles. Candidates holding a Bachelor's degree require approximately 5 years, whereas those with a Master's qualification need around 3 years of proven experience.
- Demonstrable success managing and winning government tenders is essential.
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields is required; postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA are advantageous.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Prior involvement with government contracts or public sector bidding activities.
- Familiarity with government procurement norms, including GEM portal operations and legal requirements for tenders.
- Strong project management capabilities to juggle multiple bids effectively.
- Expertise in GEM portal usage, bid management processes, compliance adherence, financial evaluation, negotiation skills, and overall government procurement knowledge.
- Additional desirable skills include effective communication, proficiency in MS Office applications, and relationship management.
