Job description
About the Role
We invite applications for a Systems Maintainer position to join the Wayside Systems team within Regional Assets North, located at our Cairns depot. This key role supports the safety and dependability of Queensland Rail's mechanical signalling infrastructure, covering an extensive region from Cairns and Kuranda, down to Townsville and St Lawrence.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical signalling devices.
- Providing support for maintenance and repairs of standby generators.
- Complying strictly with workplace health and safety standards during all operations.
- Completing precise administrative records and reports related to maintenance tasks.
- Assisting in the enhancement of work procedures and practices.
- Reporting progress and outcomes against planned maintenance schedules.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Applicants need to possess a Certificate III in Mechanical Rail Signalling along with a current open driver's licence.
Personal and Professional Attributes
- Strong mechanical aptitude with an emphasis on signalling systems.
- Ability to operate both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to safety and ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Flexibility to travel throughout regional Queensland as required.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
Employment Benefits
- A 9-day fortnight schedule, with working hours Monday through Friday and every alternate Friday off, allowing for extended weekends.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 plus 12.75% superannuation, dependent on qualifications and experience.
