Role Summary

Magellan Aerospace in Kitchener is seeking an Industrial Cleaner/Janitor for a newly created permanent position. The role primarily involves janitorial duties within the facility but also includes opportunities to support shipping and receiving operations as required. The hourly wage ranges from $21.09 to $22.44, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Use various industrial cleaning machines such as floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners to maintain facility cleanliness.
• Ensure all cleaning tasks comply with established health and safety standards.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, break areas, and other shared spaces.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to management promptly.
• Manage and track inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Perform light snow clearing when necessary.

Additional duties related to logistics:

• Unpack products while verifying them against accompanying paperwork.
• Safely pack items for shipment.
• Assist with loading and unloading of trucks.
• Pick orders for raw materials and assembly needs from the production floor.
• Collaborate closely with the Shipping Administrator and Shipping/Receiving Manager.
• Perform other assigned tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Attention to detail is essential.
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and verbal communication to comprehend and follow instructions.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity necessary for cleaning and related tasks.
• Prior experience or knowledge in janitorial cleaning work.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
