Job Overview
The Raw Materials Storekeeper holds responsibility for the comprehensive management of receiving, storing, controlling inventory, and distributing raw materials including food ingredients, packaging, and processing chemicals to ensure seamless production support.
Key Duties
- Inspect inbound raw materials and packaging against purchase documentation and delivery notes, verifying packaging condition, batch and lot data, Certificate of Analysis, and conduct temperature checks especially for cold and frozen inventories.
- Securely unload goods and perform initial physical inspections prior to storage entry.
- Apply stringent FIFO and FEFO stock rotation techniques to assure freshness and quality control.
- Monitor all batch and expiry dates diligently to avoid product degradation and prevent expired materials from reaching production.
- Carry out periodic cycle counts and comprehensive physical stock audits, resolving any discrepancies to maintain high inventory accuracy.
- Supervise storage environmental conditions, including temperature logs for cold rooms, freezers, and ambient areas.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of raw food ingredients, allergens, packaging materials, and sanitation chemicals to uphold safety standards.
- Accurate logging of all inventory transactions such as receipts, issues, transfers, and returns using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems like SAP.
- Promptly supply raw materials to production based on authorized requests to uphold uninterrupted manufacturing processes.
- Implement and adhere to food safety protocols, Good Warehousing Practices, and HACCP standards across storage zones.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage areas through 5S methodology.
- Comply fully with company Environmental Health and Safety policies, ensuring safe handling and operation of equipment including forklifts.
Qualification Requirements
- Experience: Between 2 to 5 years in warehouse operations within the food and beverage, FMCG, cold chain, or meat processing sectors, with a focus on raw materials management.
- Technical Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of raw material handling, receipt verification, inventory reconciliation, and production support procedures.
- Software Proficiency: Experience working with ERP and WMS platforms such as SAP or Oracle to manage inventory transactions.
- Expertise in inventory management methods, including FIFO, FEFO, batch traceability, food safety standards (GWP, HACCP, SFDA), and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Education: High School Diploma or Diploma in Logistics preferred.
- Certifications: Holding a Certified Forklift Operator license is advantageous.
