Job description
Role Overview
The Store Manager Candidate plays a key role in supporting daily store functions including supervision of team members, inventory control, merchandising, and delivering superior customer service. This position involves assisting with recruitment, stocking procedures, receiving shipments, and upholding store appearance and safety standards. Additionally, the role covers managing cash processes, safeguarding financial practices, handling operational documentation, and stepping into the Store Manager's role when necessary. The goal is to groom promising candidates for the Store Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in hiring, staffing, and training team members to maintain operational efficiency.
- Engage in merchandising activities, restocking inventory, and ensuring an appealing store setup.
- Support monitoring of stock including damage control, markdowns, and performing stock audits.
- Manage ordering processes to meet target levels of product availability.
- Provide outstanding customer service while exemplifying company policies and standards.
- Take part in opening and closing procedures and uphold security measures for the store.
- Handle cash operations including deposits and maintaining financial integrity.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and ensure the store is well stocked at all times.
- Analyze sales figures, labor metrics, and inventory reports to optimize store operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents, perform basic mathematical calculations, and operate cash register systems effectively.
- Knowledge of cash management, inventory controls, and merchandising best practices.
- Strong verbal communication, interpersonal interaction, and organizational capabilities.
- Problem-solving aptitude and attention to accuracy in daily tasks.
- Bilingual proficiency may be advantageous depending on the store location.
Experience & Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior retail experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Physical & Working Conditions
- The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting items up to 55 pounds.
- Use of equipment such as handheld scanners, carts, and ladders will be necessary.
- Work environment is often fast-paced with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
- Some travel may be required for attending store visits and meetings.
