Position Summary

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you play a key role in ensuring a safe, tidy, and inviting shopping atmosphere for customers. Your duties involve retrieving shopping carts from designated corrals, the parking area, and store surroundings, then returning them to specified storage spots using approved methods. Friendly customer engagement combined with a strong emphasis on safety supports smooth store functioning while developing valuable retail, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect carts from parking lot, cart corrals, and store perimeter, returning them carefully to assigned locations following Walmart's procedures and accurately completing required logs.
• Quickly respond to requests from cash registers and Customer Service by assisting customers with carrying items in or out and verifying purchase receipts when necessary.
• Carry out periodic cleaning and upkeep tasks, including restrooms, adhering to chemical handling, disposal protocols, and safe use of power equipment; perform necessary equipment inspections before operation.
• Strictly observe safety and emergency practices such as hazardous communication, lockout/tagout methods, and bloodborne pathogen guidelines to maintain a secure environment for all.
• Promote a hazard-free workplace by using personal protective gear like steel-toed shoes and reflective vests, conducting safety inspections, and complying with company policies for cleanliness and safety.
• Adapt to various work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays in response to store requirements to ensure continuous, high-quality customer service and operations.

Challenges in This Role

• Effectively manage high workloads in a fast-paced setting, particularly during overnight hours, by planning to stay focused and energetic.
• Complete large volumes of stocking and recovery accurately and promptly under time constraints.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing long periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs., with attention to consistent product presentation and organization.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $17.75.

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
