Role Overview
The Staff RTL Design Engineer will contribute with designing, verifying, optimizing, and validating ASIC/SoC hardware components, especially peripherals, emphasizing RTL design in Verilog/SystemVerilog. The role involves collaboration in defining hardware/firmware interfaces and employing standard EDA verification and power analysis tools.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and optimize RTL hardware describing peripheral components.
- Perform verification and testing of ASIC/SoC peripherals at RTL and gate levels.
- Engage in linting, clock domain crossing (CDC), logic equivalence checking (LEC), and low power analysis flows.
- Manage hardware databases and version control using tools like Clearcase and Clearquest.
- Collaborate with firmware teams to establish clear hardware/firmware interfaces.
- Implement low power design strategies to optimize hardware efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Educational qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines with minimum 4 years of hardware engineering experience;
- OR Master's degree with at least 3 years of hardware engineering experience;
- OR PhD level with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 8 years overall experience in hardware engineering and ASIC/SoC design is highly preferred.
- Proficient with Verilog and SystemVerilog for RTL design.
- Experience using linting, CDC, LEC, and tools for low power checks.
- Knowledgeable in RTL and gate-level power analysis methodologies.
- Skilled in programming languages including Verilog, C/C++, Python, and Perl.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Demonstrated proactive, creative, and collaborative approach with a continuous learning mindset.
