Specification Management Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a Specification Management Lead to oversee the comprehensive management of product specifications from creation through maintenance, ensuring accuracy, compliance with quality standards, and up-to-date documentation throughout the product lifecycle. This leadership position is based in Singapore and involves collaboration with R&D teams across Asia and Europe. The ideal candidate will be proactive, result-oriented, and adept at handling complex data, while maintaining effective communication with local, regional, and global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the R&D specification management team across multiple operating companies, ensuring alignment with business strategy and global Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) methodologies.
• Drive the adoption and implementation of PLM specification processes within the Business Group (BG) Asia operating companies.
• Act as the primary liaison for specification-related practices and system enhancements at the BG level.
• Represent BG Asia within the Global Specification Management Community to contribute to strategic development, standardize ways of working, and foster coordination among various business groups.
• Provide functional supervision to a regional group of specification specialists.
• Support digital transformation initiatives by streamlining and automating specification processes.
• Serve as the R&D owner of the BG Asia specification portfolio, maintaining high-quality, regulation-compliant standards.
• Develop and review procedures, work instructions, and training materials related to specification management.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance specification workflows and automate data management.
• Contribute actively to the design and rollout of new system implementations within BG Asia R&D.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders from Digital, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain to ensure operational and compliance requirements are met.
• Design and align ways of working to improve practicality, efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
• Lead capacity building for Key Users in BG Asia operating companies and provide technical support to local and regional end users.
• Establish and maintain a robust digital document management system for efficient storage, retrieval, and sharing of information.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Engineering, Chemistry, or other relevant scientific disciplines.
• At least 8 years of experience in specification management within the FMCG industry.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP PLM modules, particularly Specification Management, preferably with super-user experience.
• Proficient in managing complex data systems with precision.
• Knowledge of dairy industry product development and lifecycle management is advantageous.
• Experienced in driving process improvements related to specification management.
