Role Overview

The Solution Engineer position requires a highly adaptable and creative problem solver who can clearly communicate technical information to customers. Reporting to the Director of Solution Engineering, this role involves close collaboration with internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage consultative engagements with Finance and Accounting leaders addressing Financial Performance Management topics such as FP&A, consolidation, and closing processes to identify challenges and requirements.
• Deliver customized demonstrations and presentations of our platform to align with customer-specific strategies.
• Configure proof-of-concept solutions targeting particular customer needs to validate Prophix’s capability in resolving their business issues.
• Collaborate closely with Sales to devise and implement deal strategies, supplying technical knowledge during the sales process.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to prospects, guiding product evaluation, architectural decisions, and best practices.
• Produce proposals and effectively relay business and technical needs to the Professional Services team to ensure seamless post-sales onboarding.
• Identify and showcase additional platform applications to foster account growth and deliver extra value.

Candidate Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience primarily in Solution Engineering or Presales roles; consulting or finance systems implementation experience is advantageous.
• Deep understanding of financial workflows including FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and consolidation processes.
• Proven ability to present and demonstrate technical products to both business and technical audiences.
• Possess a post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a linked discipline.
• Experience working with sizable data sets for analysis or manipulation.
• Strong communication prowess with the ability to explain ideas and benefits to technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly.
• Skilled in developing reusable solutions like Excel models, automation scripts, or ETL processes.
• Fast learner of new technologies with an aptitude for understanding their business impacts.
• Comfortable responsibly using AI tools for research, drafting, and data evaluation tasks.
• Adaptable to evolving technologies with a mindset geared toward exploration and innovation.
• Collaborative and team-oriented approach to working with technology and colleagues.
• Legal work authorization in Canada is mandatory.

Success Milestones

• Within the first 30 days: Acclimate to Prophix tools, products, and culture.
• Within 90 days: Independently handle significant responsibilities.
• Within 6 months: Offer ideas and improvements with measurable contributions.

Compensation

Annual total target compensation ranges between CAD 150,000 and CAD 190,000, determined by experience, skill level, location, and internal equity, in compliance with applicable pay transparency legislation for Canada and the United States.
