Solar Project Engineer

About the Role

Voltix Solar Systems is seeking a seasoned Solar Project Engineer to bolster our operations in Doha, Qatar. This position involves comprehensive design and execution of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for varied applications including On-Grid, Off-Grid, and Hybrid setups.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer On-Grid, Off-Grid, and Hybrid solar PV systems tailored to project requirements.
• Conduct detailed load analyses, system sizing calculations, and select appropriate equipment for solar installations.
• Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical schematics, and maintain precise project documentation.
• Select and size critical components such as solar panels, inverters, batteries, cables, and protection devices to ensure system efficiency and safety.
• Perform site surveys and technical evaluations to inform design and installation processes.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities onsite, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Manage project execution timelines and coordinate between teams to align efforts and deliverables.
• Provide troubleshooting support and technical assistance to resolve system issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering.
• A minimum of five years’ professional experience in solar PV system design and project implementation.
• In-depth understanding of On-Grid, Off-Grid, Hybrid, and battery storage solar energy systems.
• Proficiency with engineering software tools such as AutoCAD and PVsyst.
• Sound knowledge of electrical system design fundamentals including cable sizing, protection mechanisms, and SLD creation.
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience working in Qatar or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is considered a strong advantage.
