Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer to design and maintain robust data infrastructure supporting some of the most demanding AI training workloads worldwide. The role involves working with petabyte-scale storage systems and tackling networking and performance complexities. You will collaborate closely with top-tier researchers and engineers within the Modeling teams, developing the high-performance data layer for training and evaluation tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain petabyte-scale storage infrastructure addressing networking and performance challenges.
- Work collaboratively with leading researchers and engineers to ensure data infrastructure meets training and evaluation requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum of four years’ experience in building and supporting data storage infrastructure.
- Proficient in Python programming.
- Experience with Kubernetes, particularly storage components such as Persistent Volumes and CSI drivers.
- Skilled at converting unstructured data into efficient datasets across multiple storage solutions including S3, GCS, and POSIX file systems.
- Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks like Apache Beam, Spark, or Flink.
- Desirable knowledge of modern analytics tools such as BigQuery, Airflow, or dbt.
- Passionate about AI with up-to-date knowledge of the field and enthusiasm for deep technical involvement.
- Eagerness to innovate and explore uncharted territory rather than solely optimizing existing systems.
