About the Role
This position at Google involves developing next-generation software technologies impacting billions worldwide, focusing on content safety infrastructure integral to Google's core products. The role includes designing scalable systems that safeguard users from harmful content while enabling rapid product launches aligned with Responsible AI principles. Engineers are expected to be versatile, innovative, and involved in full-stack development to advance technology in areas including AI, machine learning, and large-scale systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, maintain, and scale robust content safety platforms protecting critical Google products.
- Create high-quality, enduring self-service content safety solutions integrating content protection with production-ready infrastructure.
- Enable teams to shield users from offensive, sensitive, or harmful material and open new business avenues.
- Collaborate through design and code reviews to ensure coding standards, efficiency, accuracy, and testability.
- Identify and prioritize solutions for internal signal issues, coordinating with the developer community for enhancements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years in software development using one or more programming languages.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in software testing, maintenance, product launches plus at least 1 year in software design and architecture.
- 3 or more years working with speech/audio processing, reinforcement learning, machine learning infrastructure, or a related ML specialization.
- Experience in ML infrastructure components like model deployment, evaluation, data manipulation, and debugging.
Preferred Skills
- Background in Responsible AI or adjacent safety domains such as factuality or product policy enforcement.
- Experience applying content safety strategies to software products.
- Expertise in designing scalable pipelines, deploying systems, and implementing defensive architectures to meet service reliability targets.
