Role Overview
The Social Marketer will be responsible for shaping Chowdeck's digital presence beyond owned social channels by engaging with relevant online conversations, collaborating with creators and community pages, activating influencer partnerships, and embedding the brand into everyday internet culture. This role will involve managing campaigns, product launches, partnerships, and cultural events to maintain Chowdeck's visibility across diverse platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute social distribution strategies aligned with major marketing campaigns to maximize earned reach outside Chowdeck’s direct social channels.
- Manage Chowdeck's presence across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, Snapchat, Facebook, and YouTube, including platform-specific planning and campaign scheduling.
- Lead Chowdeck’s active participation in real-time cultural events by organizing social war rooms and generating rapid-response content related to significant happenings like BBNaija, AFCON, elections, trending topics, and music releases.
- Establish and nurture ongoing relationships with content creators, meme pages, entertainment blogs, micro-influencers, campus creators, TikTok editors, and fan communities to build sustained collaborations beyond one-time influencer efforts.
- Drive community interaction by engaging with followers, encouraging user-generated content, fostering brand loyalty, and directing customer concerns appropriately.
- Collaborate with creative teams including designers, motion graphics artists, copywriters, and videographers to produce tailored content with clear briefs grounded in platform insights.
- Develop resources such as asset libraries, templates, motion packs, trend briefings, and campaign guides that facilitate content creators’ featuring of Chowdeck.
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics including organic reach, engagement rates, shares, saves, video completions, volume of user-generated content, brand mentions, sentiment, and referral traffic to inform ongoing improvements.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of four years of experience in social media marketing, brand marketing, creator marketing, or community management, particularly with growing consumer brands.
- Strong insight into Nigerian internet culture combined with sharp editorial instincts to identify viral and share-worthy content.
- Exceptional writing, communication skills, and a keen eye for creative quality.
- Proven experience managing creators or influencers and developing lasting creator networks.
- Agility and resilience in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, especially during live events and dynamic campaigns.
- Ability to utilize analytics and reporting tools effectively, applying data-driven approaches to creative decision-making.
- Genuine enthusiasm for internet culture and its continuous evolution.
