About the Role

Respect Fred French in Newstead is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Care Coordinator to join their team. This full-time position involves leading the design and implementation of resident-focused social care initiatives aimed at promoting wellbeing, fostering social connections, and improving quality of life for older adults.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and enhance lifestyle, therapy, and recreational activities tailored to resident needs.
  • Lead and support the social care team, including staff and volunteers, to deliver quality programs.
  • Forge and maintain partnerships with community groups, local schools, and organizations.
  • Organize and facilitate resident meetings to involve them in shaping program developments.
  • Keep detailed records including attendance, documentation, and program evaluations.
  • Oversee resources, manage inventory, and administer social care budgets effectively.
  • Contribute actively to strategic planning and ongoing program improvements.
  • Encourage and promote an engaging and dynamic volunteer program.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or a similar qualification.
  • Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Certification in First Aid.
  • Proficient with computers and administrative tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience working in residential aged care settings.
  • Understanding of dementia care principles.
  • Experience in delivering recreational or complementary therapy programs.
