Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to manage and support enterprise-grade production applications primarily hosted on Google Cloud Platform (including Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, and Looker) or alternatively on AWS and Azure. This role requires strong expertise in monitoring, database technologies, high availability environments, networking, and Agile software delivery processes.
Responsibilities and Expertise
- Lead and maintain complex production applications within GCP or equivalent cloud environments.
- Utilize monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, Thousand Eyes, Extrahop, Datadog, and Prometheus to ensure system health and performance.
- Manage databases including Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Aerospike.
- Design and operate highly available systems leveraging data networks, NAS, IP routing, and automation tools for proactive and predictive maintenance.
- Collaborate in Agile teams using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket), GitHub, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred programming skills include C#, .Net, Java, plus scripting abilities; experience with messaging brokers like IBM MQ, Kafka, and RabbitMQ is advantageous.
- Deliver operational insights and system health reports to senior leadership, technical teams, and business units.
- Foster effective communication and teamwork among business partners, technical teams, and vendors.
- Provide reliable 24x7 production support through rotational shift schedules.
Work Conditions and Location
- No hybrid or remote work options; onsite presence at Mphasis Office (ODC) required.
- Work location options include Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
- Shift rotations cover early morning, afternoon-evening, and night hours (6:30 AM - 3:30 PM, 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in science or engineering and possess a minimum of six years' professional experience in relevant technologies and enterprise environments.
Additional Details
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a receptive and approachable attitude, and the ability to collaborate positively with multiple stakeholders are essential.
