Job description

Overview

The Settlements role involves comprehensive responsibility for daily trade processes, including pre-matching, value date management, fails tracking, and settlement execution. This position demands strict adherence to internal controls and accurate processing of trade captures to ensure smoother operations and regulatory compliance.

Primary Duties

  • Manage all day-to-day settlement functions such as pre-matching of trades, value date monitoring, fails management, and settlement processing while maintaining compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of workflow daily to meet regulatory and compliance standards, maintaining easily retrievable and clear file records.
  • Conduct daily reviews and tracking of unsettled trade fails, coordinating actions to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Engage regularly with external stakeholders including clients, brokers, sales and trading desks to address trade discrepancies and achieve resolution.
  • Match trade details accurately with broker-dealer counterparts to ensure transaction alignment.
  • Monitor clearing entities including Euroclear, DTCC, Crest, SGX, and Clearstream to confirm settlement matchings.
  • Collaborate with the settlements team to oversee and resolve trade fails effectively.
  • Provide support and cover for Business as Usual (BAU) activities in the Middle Office and Settlements teams as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Graduate degree holders in fields such as B.Com., BBA, BBM, or BCA; Postgraduates with M.Com., MBA, or PGDM are preferred.
  • Possess between 2 to 4 years of experience working in settlements and OTC derivatives.
  • Have foundational knowledge of finance principles, trade life cycle, investment banking, and derivatives market operations.
  • Exhibit strong logical reasoning and quantitative analysis skills.
