Job description
Role Overview
Be a vital part of our Workplace Solutions team supporting comprehensive settlement processes for corporate client share plan transactions worldwide. As a Settlements Analyst, you will manage the precise and timely settlement of market deals, participant transfers, and cash flows, all while adhering to strict control environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and supervise equity sales, purchases, and share transfers executed without payment.
- Generate, validate, and release SWIFT settlement messages based on regulatory and internal control standards.
- Verify broker contract notes ensuring accurate data reflection within company systems.
- Track settlement progress and resolve any instances of failed, unmatched, or delayed transactions.
- Communicate with custodians, transfer agents, brokers, and cross-functional internal units to guarantee prompt transaction settlement.
- Oversee participant transfer requests from initiation to fulfillment.
- Conduct daily reconciliation and manage exceptions efficiently.
- Comply fully with procedural documentation, regulatory mandates, and operational risk protocols.
- Operate following maker-checker principles, maintaining strong accuracy and control adherence.
- Contribute to enhancements including process automation, optimization initiatives, and operational changes.
- Support documentation updates, uphold procedural accuracy, and assist in testing new system improvements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience within Operations, Settlements, Securities Processing, Asset Management, Custody, or related Financial Services domains.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving expertise.
- High attention to detail and dedication to precision.
- Capable of juggling multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication competencies.
- Proven success working collaboratively in team settings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to identify risks and escalate issues suitably.
Preferred Attributes
- Familiarity with securities settlement and post-trade procedures.
- Knowledge of SWIFT settlement message types such as MT540, MT541, MT542, MT543, and MT103.
- Experience working with custodians, brokers, and transfer agents.
- Exposure to reconciliation and exception handling tasks.
- Participation in process improvements, automation, or operational change projects.
- Understanding of share plan administration or equity compensation frameworks.
