About the Company

GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK EMRI) operates the 2108 Emergency Service20, a comprehensive and complimentary emergency response system that manages medical, police, and fire emergencies through advanced call response centers. It functions as a Public Private Partnership (PPP).

Job Responsibilities

  • Install and uninstall servers including rack setup, cabling, labeling, and physical verification within the data center environment.
  • Handle hardware assembly and replace malfunctioning components such as motherboards, power supplies, NIC cards, RAID controllers, hard drives (HDD/SSD), and cooling fans on server platforms including Intel, Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
  • Diagnose hardware faults using respective vendor diagnostics and management tools like LED indicators, iDRAC, iLO, IMM consoles, as well as physical hardware inspection.
  • Maintain detailed records of hardware inventory, serial numbers, and data center rack configurations.
  • Set up and troubleshoot RAID configurations (RAID 0/1/5/6/10), manage disk partitioning, filesystem creation, and validate deployments.
  • Replace defective disks promptly and ensure RAID rebuilds are completed with minimal service interruption.
  • Perform firmware upgrades on servers and components, including BIOS, iDRAC/iLO, RAID and NIC firmware, following formal maintenance procedures and validation checklists.
  • Install and manage Linux and Windows Server operating systems on physical hardware, troubleshoot OS boot issues, driver problems, storage detection, service management, performance optimization, and patching.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, system services, and baseline security hardening in line with company standards.
  • Understand and configure IPv4 networking concepts including public/private addressing, subnetting, gateways, VLANs, and static IP setup on Linux distributions.
  • Verify network connectivity and resolve issues related to DNS, routing, gateways, and port accessibility.
  • Use Linux package management tools for installation and updating of software packages, manage services effectively via start/stop/restart commands.
  • Utilize SSH, PuTTY, and RDP for remote server administration and troubleshooting.
  • Operate out-of-band management utilities for diagnostics and recovery as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting workloads in cloud or data center environments.
  • Familiarity with remote management interfaces like iDRAC and iLO.
  • Knowledge of server hardening, patch management, and writing operational documentation such as SOPs.
